Pogo pins can play a role in connecting and transmitting data in various industries. Don't underestimate the precision of finished Pogo pins, as they undergo a rigorous series of inspections and tests before being delivered to customers.
Below is an introduction to the testing items that LINKWISE's independently developed and produced spring pin connectors need to pass:
一、 Pogopin mechanical performance testing
1. Contact retention force test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the maximum axial force that the product can withstand after being assembled into plastic, in order to avoid PIN retraction caused by operational errors during use.
2. Product elasticity test (spring force)
Measurement purpose: To measure the elasticity of products to verify product design and ensure product contact reliability.
3. Durability test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the degree of wear on the electroplating layer of the product or the changes in electrical and mechanical characteristics of the product before and after continuous operation for a certain number of times.
4. Mechanical shock test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the impact of sudden impacts during transportation or other factors on the product's contact function.
二、 Pogopin electrical performance testing
1. Insulation resistance test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the surface product leakage current of the insulation material of the connector after passing through DC voltage, in order to determine its insulation degree.
2. Withstanding voltage test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the safety rated voltage of the connector and the safety of withstanding instantaneous pulse voltage, and then evaluate whether the insulation material and its composition insulation spacing of the connector are appropriate.
3. Low level contact resistance LLCR
Measurement purpose: To test the contact resistance of the terminal without damaging the surface oxide film, as an overall evaluation of the connector.
4. Temperature rise test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the rated current that a pogopin can carry, and its temperature rise must not exceed the specified value within the specified time.
三、Pogopin environment performance testing
1. Salt spray test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the ability of metal fittings and terminal coatings of products to resist salt spray corrosion.
2. Constant temperature and humidity test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the impact of product storage in high temperature and high humidity environments on the electrical characteristics of the product and the feasibility of operating in such environments.
3. Thermal cycling or thermal shock testing
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the impact of rapid large temperature differences on the functional quality of the product.
4. High temperature life test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the impact of product exposure to high temperature environment for a specified period of time on its functional quality.
5. Vibration testing
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the durability of the product's vibration resistance, confirm whether the connector is too loose, causing instantaneous power outage during vibration, and whether contact point corrosion and oxidation caused by vibration result in resistance changes.
6. Resistance to Solder Heat Test
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the ability of a product to withstand soldering heat or radiation heat when passing through a tin bath.
7. Gas corrosion test (solver ability)
Test purpose: Most products are used in the atmosphere, and most corrosion occurs in the atmosphere, which contains corrosive components and factors such as oxygen, humidity, temperature changes, and pollutants. Assessing the ability of materials and protective layers to resist gas corrosion, as well as comparing the process quality of similar protective layers, can also be used to assess the ability of certain products to resist gas corrosion.
8. Hand Sweat Test (Solder Ability)
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the surface corrosion resistance of the product after artificial sweat test under a 40x microscope.
9. Coating's resistance to electrolysis
Measurement purpose: To evaluate the electrolytic resistance of pogopin coatings and observe their surface corrosion resistance under a 40x microscope.
